The Angola Municipalities Atlas is a digital database of indicators
related to the Angolan rural sector. The atlas can be browsed
on your desktop using Dynamic Maps, the GIS viewer of Dynamic
Atlas, or through the Web using the on-line mapping system.
The main topics
addressed in the atlas are:
1. Geographic context
2. Crops and crop calendars
4. Food security
5. Rural economy
For a quick overview of the content, you may use the web mapper,
which allows you to retrieve almost any information contained in the
atlas. Note that a web mapping system requires fast Internet
connections to support the amount of data that is frequently
exchanged between browser and server.
Use the light version
of the web mapper if the
is too slow (see comparison table below).

1. After the download is complete, unzip the file to your hard drive
and extract its content (double-click on Angola July 2006.exe). Make
sure you keep all the pathnames intact. It is advisable to keep the
atlas close to the root drive (i.e. c:/atlases/) so that file
pathnames do not become too long.
2. If have not installed the Dynamic Maps, download the software
and service pack. Then, run the setup file and follow the
prompts during the installation.
3. After re-booting the computer, run the Dynamic Maps 3.1
Service Pack 6.exe. This will apply any updates to the software.
If you have installed any other Dynamic Atlas software, such as
Dynamic Knowledgebase, then make sure you download and apply the
service packs for those products as well.
4. Start Dynamic Maps. You now can import the atlas that you
copied in step 1. Click on Import, which will bring up a Browse for
Folder form. Navigate to the atlas and pick the root folder.
5. Once the atlas has been imported, select and open it.
