- December 13, 2013: International seminar on Seed Production and Supply
Organized by the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetic and Office of Research
Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).
- December 11, 2013: Seminar on "Strengthening Informal Seed
Supply System through Participatory Technology Transfer".
Held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), it focused on-farm
quality seed production, processing, storage and packing for maintaining its purity,
quality and viability based on scientific principles and techniques.
- October 24-28, 2013: Training course for CRS's staff at University
of Maryland, Washington DC, USA
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) organized a four-day Rabi Festival (Kissan Mela).
It included agricultural exhibition, farmer convention, cultural programmes, international
seminar on "Climate Change and Food security: Policy issues" and Cultural programmes during
nights of all the four days. The festival aimed at promoting latest agricultural practices to
increase the agricultural productivity. It also provided an opportunity to the farming community
and agricultural experts to sit together and make strategy to boost production.

jointly organized by PARC and ICIMOD at Mountain Agricultural Research Centre, (MARC),
Jaglot, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan

- October 4-6, 2014: World Space Week 2013 was celebrated all over Pakistan
- September 10-16, 2013: Targeted training on "Agricultural information
system: Building Provincial Capacity for agriculture monitoring". Quetta, Baluchistan
A training course was organized and conducted at Quetta, Baluchistan to
develop technical expertise on remote sensing based acreage and yield estimation,
in particular using satellite imagery.
- September, 2013: Training course at University of Maryland, College Park, USA
For CRS staff from Punjab and Sindh, and university staff from
Faisalabad and TandoJam agriculture universities.
- August 29-30, 2013: International Agricultural
Innovation Program (AIP) Inception Workshop, Islamabad
Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC)
in collaboration with USAID, CIMMYT, ICARDA, IRRI, ILRI, AVRDC and UC
Davis organized a two day Workshop to develop strategy for implementation
of AIP to support agriculture research community in Pakistan to increase
crop productivity and production value of livestock, horticultural and
cereal crops, thus increasing income for Pakistan farmers.

- July 22-26, 2013: AgMIP South-Asian Regional Research
and Coordination Team Mid-Term workshop, Nepal
The Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement
Project (AgMIP) is a major international collaborative effort to assess the state of global
agricultural modeling and to understand climate impacts on the agricultural sector. For this,
the South Asian research teams met with AgMIP leadership to assess the fast-track
evaluations and plan the completion of their regional assessments by meeting with
AgMIP PIs and crop, climate, economic and IT leaders.
- June 7, 2013: AgMIP-Pakistan kickoff
workshop and International Seminar on Climate Change, University of Agriculture Faisalabad
This integrated workshop
at providing the most comprehensive scientific information about climate change
and agriculture, crop modeling and intercomparison of models, climate change
impact assessment and economic modeling, application of modeling and information
communication technology (ICT) in agriculture, mitigation and adaptation strategies
development in the wake of climate change.
